Cougars continue eight-game stretch against Shockers
WICHITA, Kan. – Houston Baseball continues American Athletic Conference play and its stretch of eight consecutive games against Wichita State when it visits the Shockers for four contests beginning Friday from Eck Stadium.
Friday's split doubleheader gets underway at 1 p.m. with the second contest set for 6 p.m. The teams will take part in the first event at the new Riverfront Stadium, home of the Double-A Wichita Wind Surge, on Saturday at 2 p.m. Sunday's finale is at 11 a.m. from Eck Stadium.

Houston (13-14, 1-3 AAC) is looking to bounce back after dropping 3-of-4 to Wichita State last weekend at Schroeder Park. Starting pitching posted a 2.05 ERA, limiting Wichita State batters to a .176 average while striking out 28. All four starters tossed at least 7.0 innings.
Center fielder Brandon Uhse paced Houston offensively last weekend vs. Wichita State. Uhse went 5-for-14 (.357) against the Shockers. He struck his third homer of the season in the second game of Friday's doubleheader. Uhse has seven RBIs, five runs, five doubles and 13 hits in his last 13 games, dating to March 14.
Wichita State (15-9, 3-1 AAC) has won seven of its last eight games. The Shockers are 9-3 at home. The Shockers are led by senior Corrigan Bartlett (.370) and junior Paxton Wallace (.355), who rank second and fourth in the AAC for batting average, respectively.
