Cougars hit three home runs against Rajin’ Cajun
Houston's (10-22) three home runs against the Rajin' Cajun (29-7) marks the ninth time this season the Cougars have hit multiple home runs in a game.
Senior Lindsey Stewart-Vaughn launched Houston's first of the day with her leadoff homer in the first inning. She then hit her second of the day in the fifth. Sophomore Britaney Shaw connected on her fifth long ball of the season with her two-run shot in the fifth to give Houston a 5-3.
1st | Stewart-Vaughn sent her first home run of the season over the rightfield wall to give Houston the first lead of the game.
2nd | Louisiana crossed the plate twice in the top of the inning to claim a 2-1 advantage.
5th | After UL stretched its lead to three, Stewart-Vaughn connected on her second home run of the day with a two-run shot to tie the score. Following a base-hit from senior Sarah Queen, Shaw then stepped up to the plate and sent a two-run shot of her own over the wall as the Cougars reclaimed the lead at 5-3.
6th | The Rajin' Cajun responded with six runs in the frame to retake a four-run advantage, which proved to be the difference in the game.
