Cougars struggle manufacturing runs
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Softball team dropped its series-opening doubleheader against USF on Thursday inside Cougar Softball Stadium.
Houston (9-20, 0-6 AAC) found itself in a pitcher's duel to start the day but fell short in the 1-0 loss. Game two of the doubleheader saw the Cougars drop their contest with the Bulls (16-6, 6-0 AAC) by a score of 14-1.
Sophomore Logan Hulon got the nod in the circle for game one, where she tossed her first complete game of the season, having surrendered just one walk in her seven innings of work. She needed just 89 pitches to complete her outing.
KEY INNINGS
4th | The Bulls struck first in the game, as they crossed the plate once, which proved to be the difference.
6th | Houston threatened to put runs on the board, having loaded the bases, but the Cougars were unable to plate any runs.
