
Houston Returns to Action on Saturday in Fertitta Center

Cougars tip off vs. Our Lady of the Lake at 2 p.m., Saturday
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Men's Basketball program returns to action at 2 p.m., Saturday, when it faces NAIA member Our Lady of the Lake inside the Fertitta Center.
Fans should note that this was a recent addition to the Cougars' schedule from earlier published schedules.
The fifth-ranked Cougars come into this weekend's game following a tough 82-73 loss at ECU on Wednesday night. Senior guard DeJon Jarreau tied his collegiate career high and set his personal best as a Cougar with 25 points in the loss.
The New Orleans native also grabbed five defensive rebounds and dished out a team-high five assists.
Senior forward Justin Gorham finished with 11 points and a team-high 11 rebounds against the Pirates. It was Gorham's team-leading sixth double-double of the season and his ninth straight game with double-digit rebounds.
Gorham became the first Cougars since Hakeem Olajuwon to assemble a streak that long since the end of the 1982-83 (last three games) and start of the 1984 (first 12 games) seasons.
Guards Quentin Sasser and Marcus Sasser rank 4-5 in the latest American Athletic Conference scoring race, averaging 16.2 and 15.7 points per game, respectively.
This will be the first time in school history that the Cougars have faced Our Lady of the Lake.

• Our Lady of the Lake has endured seven postponements and one cancellation on its 2020-21 schedule during the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Our Lady of the Lake has lost its last two games. The Saints' lone victory was a 61-58 win at Texas State on Dec. 12, 2020.
• Saturday's game will be Our Lady of the Lake's first game since a 102-70 loss at UTSA on Dec. 20, 2020.
• Against UTSA, senior forward Jordan Embry, junior forward Ruben Monzon and senior guard Ethan White posted 14 poiints apiece to lead the Saints. Monzon added a team-high eight rebounds and game-high four steals and tied with Embry, senior guard Darin Minniefield and junior guard Xavier Woodington for team-high honors with two assists each.

• Dial has built an 18-40 record during his career with the Saints.
• Saturday's game will be the first time Dial has faced Houston during his career.
