Tullos Snags 2nd Weekly Honor in a Row

HOUSTON – For the second time in as many weeks, University of Houston junior middle blocker Rachel Tullos was honored as the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Tullos is coming off her fourth-consecutive week with at least 11 blocks.

Houston now stands with an 19-5 overall record this season and stands alone in second place in the American standings.

ABOUT RACHEL TULLOS
In two matches last week, Tullos averaged 1.57 blocks per set and added a dig on the weekend.

Tullos talliied 11 total blocks, 15 kills, hit .367 on the weekend.

The middle blocker has led the Coogs in blocks 17 times this season and six-straight matches. Tallying 45 total blocks over the past eight matches.

UP NEXT
The Cougars head on the road to face third place Wichita State on Friday at 7 p.m. CST and then head to Tulsa for a 1 p.m. CST Sunday matchup to finish the road trip.
