Houston Opens Postseason Against Wichita State

Cougars enter conference tournament as 10th seed
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Basketball team will open postseason play at The American Athletic Conference Tournament against Wichita State on Friday at Mohegan Sun Casino & Resort. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m. CT and the game can be viewed on ESPN3.
Wichita State enters the contest at the 7th-seed and Houston will be playing as the 10th-seed. The full bracket can be found by clicking HERE.
GAME NOTES
• Houston enters The American Athletic Conference Tournament with a 12-18 overall record this season, including a 5-11 mark in conference play. The Cougars are the 10th-seed.
• Houston has four players averaging double-digits this season led by Dymond Gladney with 11.4 points per game, followed by Tatyana Hill with 11.0 points per game. Dorian Branch contributes 10.4 points per contest, followed by Julia Blackshell-Fair with 10.0.
• Houston is averaging 61.6 points per game on 38.3 percent shooting from the field and a 26.8 percent mark from beyond the 3-point line. The Cougars allow 67.8 points per game on defense while letting opponents shoot 42.1 percent and 31.4 percent from the field and beyond the arc, respectively.
• Hill leads Houston on the glass, pulling down 6.5 rebounds per contest.

Individual session tickets for the 2020 American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship are set to go on sale. The championship will take place March 6-9, 2020, with all games being played at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, for the seventh-consecutive season.
