Last time out, Houston slugged its way to an 11-3 victory over Sam Houston State, where the Cougars launched four home runs. The offensive outburst also included a pair of doubles against the Bearkats.

Some of Houston's most explosive innings have come in the third frame, as the Cougars have outscored their opponents 20-6 in the third inning this season. The Cougars have scored three or more runs in a single inning nine times this season, and of those nine, three have taken place in the third inning.
What Can Brown Do For you?
Taking over behind the dish this season is sophomore catcher Kati Ray Brown, who has made the most of her opportunities through the team's first two weeks of the 2020 campaign. A third generation Houston Cougar Athlete, Brown's five home runs on the year not only leads the team but is also most in the American Athletic Conference.
Entering this weekend, Brown's .960 slugging percentage sits atop of the conference and sits amongst the best in the nation, ranking No. 36.
Be'LEE'ving In Herself
It didn't take long for freshman pitcher Megan Lee to get herself acclimated to the collegiate level, making her presence in the circle felt immediately. Enrolling at semester break paid dividends for the rookie, who has showed her versatility as a starter and a reliever, collecting a couple of saves and a win in her first weekend in a Houston uniform.
After coming out of the bullpen and earning the first save of her career to seal the season-opening win over UMass Lowell (2/7), Lee stepped into the circle the following day and tossed a complete-game victory against Fordham (2/8), where she surrendered just three hits in the win. That Sunday found the rookie enter the game in relief again to cement the win over Northwestern State (2/9) for her second save of the weekend.
