
Houston Concludes First Day of Double Meet Action

Cougars conclude Howie Ryan Invite and first day of Tiger Paw Invite
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Track & Field team concluded the Howie Ryan Invitational and had a successful first day of action at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational.
CLEMSON TIGER PAW INVITATIONAL – DAY ONE

The Houston throwers got to work early in South Carolina as Taylor Scaife and Mikaila Martin each finished among the top-8 in the women's weight throw. Scaife earned a third-place finish in the event with a throw of 21.01m (68-11.25). Martin continued to have a strong season, finishing in seventh-place with a personal-best throw of 20.34m (66-08.75).
Miles Marhofer anchored the Cougars on the men's side with a throw of 21.01m (68-11.25) on his second attempt to finish in third-place.
Nora Monie posted a fourth-place finish in the women's Shot Put invitational with a throw of 15.94m (52-03.75) on her fourth attempt.
Devin Vallejo-Bannister paced UH in the 1-Mile, besting his previous collegiate best in the event for a second-place finish at 4:12.07. He was trailed by Brandon Seagreaves who also posted a new personal record in the event at 4:15.45 for eighth-place.
Tristan Evelyn bested her previous collegiate-best in the 60-meters to advance to the semifinal, falling just short of the final with an 11th-place in the semifinal at 7.35. The time is ranked third in program history.

Destiny Lawrence posted a second-place finish in the triple jump, besting her previous collegiate-best with a mark of 12.84m (42-01.50).
Sarah Howe secured a third-place finish in pole vault after clearing 3.70m (12-01.50). On the men's side Ben Percefull finished in fifth-place in pole vault with a mark of 5.15m (16-10.75).
In the long jump on the women's side, Samiyah Samuels finished in fourth place with a mark of 5.90m (19-04.25). On the men's side, Kenneth Pree took home the silver with a jump of 7.29m (23-11.00), trailed by Allen Blair in fourth-place with a mark of 7.16m (23-06.00) .
Brendon Rivera posted a first-place finish in the high jump, clearing 2.10m (6-10.75).
Ariele Adams took home the bronze in the 60-meters with a time of 7.59 and finished in fourth in the 200-meter with a time of 24.54.
On the men's side, Christian Hamberlin took home third-place in the 60-meters by clocking a personal-best time of 6.796.
To close out the day, the squad made up of Matthias Petterway, David-Marquis Patrick, Jevon Wallace and Brandon Adams took home second-place with a time of 3:17.89.
