Cougars meet Knights for first time this season
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Women's Basketball team will return home for a Wednesday night meeting with UCF at the Fertitta Center. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
COUGAR FAST BREAK
• Houston enters Saturday's game with a 12-12 overall record this season, including a 5-5 mark in conference play.
• Houston has four players averaging double-digits this season led by Dymond Gladney with 11.7 points per game, followed by Dorian Branch with 11.2 points per game and Tatyana Hill 10.9. Julia Blackshell-Fair is the fourth Cougar in double-figures with 10.0 points per game.
• Houston is averaging 62.9 points per game on 38.8 percent shooting from the field and a 27.5 percent mark from beyond the 3-point line. The Cougars allow 66.5 points per game on defense while letting opponents shoot 40.9 percent and 30.4 percent from the field and beyond the arc, respectively.
• Hill leads Houston on the glass, pulling down 6.6 rebounds per contest.
• Houston is a force to be reckoned with on the boards this season, averaging 38.2 rebounds per game including over 15 offensive boards per game.
• Houston forces 18.4 turnovers per game, with 15 or more forced turnovers in 21 of its 24 games this season. Under Coach Hughey, Houston has been one of the most active defensive teams in the country over the past two seasons. The Cougars are experts at protecting the rim, entering the game ranked 51st nationally in blocks (99) and 66th in Blocks Per Game (4.1).

• UCF enters Wednesday's contest with an 13-8 overall record and 5-4 mark in conference play. • UCF is averaging 64.3 points per game on 41.9 percent shooting from the field and 32.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
• The Knights enters their 4th season under Head Coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson and is led in scoring by Kay Kay Wright who is averaging 16.3 points per game. Masseny Kaba leads the Knights on the boards with 6.4 rebounds per game, as Wright leads the squad with 88 assists this season.
