Houston Heads to San Antonio for Season Opener

Cougars open season on Friday against UIW and UTPB
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving program will head to San Antonio for its season opener against Incarnate Word and UT-Permian Basin on Friday. Diving events are slated to begin at noon and will be immediately followed by the swimming events.

Houston closed out its annual Red-White Meet on Thursday afternoon with the Red squad securing a 115-88 victory. The Cougars will travel to Incarnate Word for its first meet of the 2019-20 season as they look to defend their three consecutive American Athletic Conference titles when the championships return to Houston.

Houston had a busy offseason, adding six new student-athletes to the roster for the 2019-20 season, along with the addition of Assistant Coach Abigail Houck.

 SCOUTING THE CARDNINALS/FALCONS
Houston will return home to face conference foe Tulane on Oct. 3 at the CRWC. The meet is slated to begin at 10 a.m.

- This is also the second straight season that the Cougars will compete against UT-Permian Basin.
- UIW added 22 new faces to its roster for the 2019-20 season, after finishing third at the CCSA Championships last season.
- UTPB is coming off a sixth-place finish at the NSISC Championships last season.
