Nolin Packer’s overtime goal secures 1-0 win for Cougars
HOUSTON - A golden goal in the 97th minute from Nolin Packer secured a 1-0 overtime victory over ECU, Thursday evening at the Carl Lewis Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Houston had its share of scoring opportunities in regulation, outshooting ECU 6-2 after the opening frame.
- The Cougars got on the board and earned the win inside the 97th minute when Nolin Packer found the back of the net and secured the golden goal.
- Samantha Cude played every minute in-goal for the Cougars, posting six saves.
- Desiree Bowen led the team with four shots, followed by Amy Nguyen, Jazmin Grant and Nolin Packer notching three shots.
- Houston outshot ECU, 13-6.
- The Cougars tallied eight corner kicks on the day.
OTHER NOTABLES
- Houston improves to 4-11-0 on the season.
- Houston is now 2-4-0 at home this season.
- ECU owns the all-time series, 7-5-1.
