Grant Named to Preseason All-Conference Team

Sophomore forward tabbed for preseason award
HOUSTON – With only a week and a half remaining before kicking off her second season under head coach Diego Bocanegra, sophomore forward Jazmin Grant was tabbed for The American preseason All-Conference team.

Appearing in 13 games with 11 starts, Grant finished out the 2017-18 season top-three in as many categories. The then-freshman posted five assists and five goals to finish second on the team in points with 15. A native of Atascocita, Texas native, Grant showcased her dynamic skillset and concluded her debut season at Houston with Second Team All-Conference and All-Rookie team honors.

Following the 2018 season Grant was called up and competed with the U20 Jamaican Women's National team in a series of World Cup qualifiers.

Houston will showcase its 2018-19 roster in an exhibition match Aug. 12 against Stephen F. Austin at the Carl Lewis Complex at 6 p.m. before opening its 2018 season on the road at Houston Baptist on Aug. 17.
