Cougars meet Buccaneers before heading home to open Fertitta Center
Johnson City, Tenn. – The Houston Cougar Women's Basketball team opens up the month of December by wrapping up its 2-game road trip with a matchup at East Tennessee State, on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT inside Brooks Gym.

We Meet Again – Houston and East Tennessee State meet for the second-consecutive season and the third time overall. Houston won last year's contest 88-69 on Dec. 10.
American Honor – After averaging 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 7.5 steals per game a week ago, Jasmyne Harris was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
Block Party – Houston had a season-high 10 blocks on Wednesday against Florida Gulf Coast, including seven in the first half. Dorian Branch now has eight blocks this season which ranks fourth in The American.
Lockdown Defense – Houston forced 19 more turnovers on Wednesday, and now averages 25.88 turnovers forced per game which ranks 10th in the country and second only to ECU's 26.00 in The American.
Air It Out – Houston has set a school-record for 3-pointers in each of the past two seasons, and the Cougars are lighting it up from deep again. Their 56 3-pointers made leads The American this season.
SERIES vs. EAST TENNESSEE STATE
Houston and East Tennessee State will meet for the third time overall and for the second-consecutive season.
The Cougars won the 2017 version of the series 88-69 on Dec. 10 to even the series at 1-1.
Saturday's game will mark the first in the series in Johnson City, Tenn.

Houston enters the game with a 3-5 record after falling 76-71 at Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday.
Houston has four players averaging double figures in scoring per night, including Jasmyne Harris, whose 19.0 per game ranks third in The American, while her 152 total points sits seventh in the country. East Tennessee State enters Saturday's contest with a 1-8 record after defeating Appalachian State 95-64 on Thursday. Erica Haynes-Overton is the only ETSU player averaging double-figures in scoring this season with 19.8 points per game.
As a team, the Buccaneers are shooting 40.8 percent from the field and 24.6 percent from beyond the 3-point line, leading to 64.8 points per game. ETSU allows opponents to score 79.0 points per game on 46.2 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from beyond the 3-point line.
