Cougars hit the road for New York City
NEW YORK – The Houston Cougar Women's Basketball team returns to the road with a weekday matchup against Columbia on Wednesday. Tipoff against the Lions is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT, inside Levien Gymnasium.

Series vs. Columbia – Houston and Columbia will meet for just the second time in their histories, but for the second-consecutive season. Houston won the first matchup 77-53 in December of 2017.
Series Success – Serithia Hawkins (19 points), Jasmyne Harris (16 points), Angela Harris (14 points) and Dorian Branch (10 points) will look to continue the success they had against Columbia a season ago.
That's Ours – Houston set a school record with 41 turnovers forced in the win over Georgia Tech and now leads the American Athletic Conference with 25.40 turnovers forced per game and 58 steals.
From Deep – Houston has made 38 3-pointers through the first five games of the season, a mark that paces The American and ranks 17th nationally.
Always on the Court – Thanks to three overtime periods for the Cougars this season, Dorian Branch (179:29) and Jasmyne Harris (173:15) lead the American in minutes played, while each ranks among the top-15 nationally.
