Brascia Named to TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week

Cougar sophomore picks up second weekly award
HOUSTON – After posting two goals and an assist this past weekend, Houston standout Mia Brascia was tabbed to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week.

Brascia notched her first goal of the season inside the 73rd minute, followed by her seventh assist of the season on the game-tying goal less than 10 minutes later in a comeback victory at ECU. In Sunday's match at Cincinnati, Brascia scored the lone Houston goal and helped the Cougars closeout the weekend with four points and second in the American Athletic Conference standings.

This season Brascia has been a constant force on the Houston offense with a team-high seven assists, which is ranked eighth nationally. The sophomore is currently tied for the top spot in all-time single-season assists at Houston.

The Cougars will return home to the Carl Lewis Complex for an Oct. 4 meeting with No. 20 Memphis at 12 p.m. On Oct. 7 Houston will host Tulsa with the first kick slated for 1 p.m.

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS
The Houston Soccer program is excited to celebrate 20 years of Houston soccer this season. The team unveiled a logo on June 14 that represents 20 years of Houston soccer. The logo is featured on one of the three uniforms that the Cougars will wear throughout the season.
