Soccer Hits the Road for First Away Series

HOUSTON - After starting the season with a home win, the University of Houston Women's Soccer team will hit the road to face Incarnate Word at 5 p.m. Friday in San Antonio, Texas, before its second road match against Texas State at 1 p.m., Sunday at the Bobcats Soccer Complex in San Marcos, Texas.

COUGAR BITES
Junior Hannah Dauzat was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after her hat trick against Texas Southern to lead the Cougars to a 3-0 season-opening victory. Her three goals tied her for second in program history in goals in a game.
Selena Peters and Margo McEntire tallied assists for the Cougars in the season opener, with Peters connecting with Dauzat on two goals in the second period. The Houston native is now tied for third in program history in assists in a game. McEntire got her first assist for the season on a link up with Dauzat for the season's first goal at the five-minute mark.
Transfer Rachel Estopare notched her first win and shutout with the Cougars in her debut for Houston. The goalkeeper had one save in the season opener.

Prior to hosting the Cougars on Sunday, the Bobcats will travel to McNeese State on Friday. Texas State is currently 2-0 with two shutouts in wins over Lamar and Prairie View A&M.

Cougars will host Samford for their first meeting in program history at 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 4. Every Sunday at the Carl Lewis Complex is Sundae Sunday with the first 100 UH students receiving free ice cream sundaes. Sunday also serves as Elementary School Day. Group rates will be offered for those who wear their elementary school t-shirts to the game.
