COUGAR BITES
Head Coach Chris Pfau is entering his fifth season at Houston, under the tutelage of Pfau, the Cougars are 2-1-1 in home season openers.
The Houston program is returning 72 percent of goals scored on offense from a year ago, including scoring leaders Desiree Bowen and Selena Peters, who had four goals each.
The Cougars return the 2015 assists leaders junior Vanessa Almaguer and sophomore Georgi Dolence, each tallying three assists.
Houston returns seven starters from the 2015 season, including All-Freshman Team member Desiree Bowen.
The Cougars added 11 incoming freshman to their 2016 signee class along with two transfers, goalkeeper Rachel Estopare from Arizona and Madison Fulp from Louisiana-Lafayette.
Out of the 31 student-athletes on the roster, 21 come from the Lone Star State - 11 of which hail from the greater Houston area.

The Tigers are coached by third-year coach Kathryn Saunders, who last season led the Tigers to an 8-11 season and 6-4 mark in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.
