HOUSTON - The Houston Cougar soccer program and head coach Chris Pfau have announced dates for the program's upcoming summer camp schedule, which will be divided into three different camps ranging from June 6-July 21 at the Houston Cougar Soccer Complex on campus.
BEAT THE HEAT CAMP - Ages 7-13
Houston's first camp will be a Beat The Heat camp, for children ages 7-13, which will be held in three sessions throughout the summer on the indoor turf field inside the Athletics/Alumni Center. Sessions will be held Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m., to 3 p.m. with a break for lunch in between. The cost of Beat The Heat camp is $350 per camper, with session one being held June 6-9, session two from July 11-14, and session three from July 18-21.
Beat The Heat camp is designed for girls and boys of all abilities who want to experience a fun soccer environment while learning skills and ideas to practice on their own. Campers will be coached by current and former Houston Soccer student-athletes and is designed to improve basic skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting and more.
LITTLE COOGS BEAT THE HEAT CAMP - Ages 4-6
Option two for Houston Cougar Soccer camp this summer will be the Little Coogs Beat The Heat camp. Little Coogs Beat The Heat camp is designed for girls and boys ages 4-6, and will be held on the turf inside the Athletics/Alumni Center. Players will learn skills through fun and engaging exercises designed to work on technique while having a great time. The Little Coogs camp will coincide with the full-day Beat The Heat Camp. The camp will be held in two Monday-through-Thursday sessions from June 6-9 and again from July 11-14 from 9-11:30 a.m. The Little Coogs Beat The Heat camp will cost $225 per camper.
GIRLS COLLEGE ID CAMP -- Grades 8 through High School
The third option for Houston Cougar Soccer camp will be the Girls College ID Camp. The Girls College ID Camp is designed specifically for players entering 8th grade or in high school that want to experience what it is like to train at the collegiate level, and for those that are interested in playing college soccer. Girls College ID Camp proved an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a competitive environment while receiving a high level of soccer training from the University of Houston Soccer Coaching Staff. Goalkeeper specific training will also be provided.
Girls College ID Camp includes individual instruction and full field 11 vs. 11 matches to allow players to showcase their skills in various environments. The camp will include a session that will go over recruiting information, college preparation and any questions that campers may have about the process. Girls College ID Camp is a great, high intensity environment for campers to learn what soccer is like at the next level.
Girls College ID Camp will be held June 9-12 and will cost $500 for commuters and $575 for overnight campers. Check-in for camp will be held June 9 from 1-3 p.m., while check-out will be June 12 from 11:30 a.m. until noon.
