Volleyball Continues Preseason Training

HOUSTON - In preparation for the season opener Aug. 30-31 in San Marcos, Texas, The University of Houston volleyball program continues preseason training monday at the Athletics/Alumni Center.
SEASON OPENER
Houston kicks off the season at the Delta Zeta Classic hosted by Texas State Aug. 30-31. On Friday, the team faces Quinnipiac at 4:30 p.m. The Cougars will then play two games on Saturday, against Lamar at 10 a.m. and host Texas State at 6:30 p.m.

Monday, the team focused on diving drills and passing techniques before taking a day off on Tuesday.

Due to the Mayor's Back To School Fest taking place in the Athletics/Alumni Center, head coach Kaddie Platt scheduled the first practice of the year at The Zone, a sports and entertainment complex off Stella Link Road in Southwest Houston.
Coach Platt and the team focused on drills and footwork for most of the morning practice.
"We focused a lot on the fundamentals this morning," Platt said. "The girls did a good job of staying focused through the small stuff."
