Soccer Continues Preparations For Exhibition Opener

HOUSTON -The University of Houston soccer program has wrapped up its second week of preseason practice and is gearing up for its exhibition match against Northwestern State at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, at Robertson Stadium.
The Cougars came into preseason with an open mind and ready to learn. "Training has been good," head coach Chris Pfau said. "The team came into preseason in good shape and with good attitudes. They have been working extremely hard and things are starting to stick. It is nice to see them executing new things."
This weekend's exhibition match will allow the coaching staff to evaluate and the players to practice what they have been working on throughout the past two weeks.
"The biggest thing we are looking at this weekend is our players under pressure," Pfau said. "The coaching staff knows it will not be pretty at times but if the girls can execute some of our training habits, we will have made progress."
Saturday's match is open and free to all fans. The team will host an autograph session at the conclusion of the game.
UP NEXT
The regular season begins at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 17, when the Cougars travel to face Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas. They will then return home Aug. 19 to host Houston Baptist at 7 p.m.

Houston Soccer group tickets are available to organizations of 10 or more people who purchase tickets in advance. Group pricing is not available at the door.
