HOUSTON - University of Houston volleyball fans are invited to Skeeter's Mesquite Grill on Aug. 28 to visit with head coach Molly Alvey as she makes a stop on the annual Coaches' Road Tour. Skeeter's is located at 3111 Woodridge Drive.
She will be joined on the Coaches' Road Tour stop by football head coach Kevin Sumlin, baseball head coach Todd Whitting, and Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades.
The event begins at 6 p.m., and is one of five stops on the summer tour. The first stop is scheduled for July 22 at the Ragin' Cajun in Sugar Land. Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades, football head coach Kevin Sumlin and golf head coach Jonathan Dismuke are scheduled to attend and discuss the upcoming seasons as well as the future of Houston Athletics.
"I am so excited to get out and continue to meet more of our loyal fans," Alvey said. "Ever since I have become part of the UH family, our fans have been so incredibly excited about our staff and supportive of our efforts to lead this team."
"The tour is a great opportunity to tell our fans about those efforts and the steps we are taking to take the volleyball program forward in a positive direction."
Alvey will begin her first season at the helm of the volleyball program on Aug. 27-28 when the team travels to Austin, Texas, for the Texas Invitational. The student-athletes will report to campus on Aug. 9 and begin fall practice on Aug. 10.
