With Houston leading 17-12 midway through the opening half, the Cougars put together a 17-2 run to stretch the lead to 20 points. The Huskies fought back, holding Houston to only one field goal over the final 4:55 to cut the deficit to 15 points at the break.
The Cougars pushed the lead to 25 points after a 16-4 run early in the second half, but the Huskies tallied eight-consecutive points in less than a minute to bring the deficit back to 17 points.
Lesslee Mason ended the Houston Baptist run, converting a layup and stealing the ensuing possession to find Zalika Dyson open under the basket, which sparked a 19-6 Houston run as the Cougars stormed to a 75-45 lead.
Brittany Mason chipped in five points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Jasmine Johnson added nine points and three boards.
The Cougar bench also enjoyed a productive night, as Allie Henderson posted four points and a career-high nine rebounds and Mae Woods added a bucket and a season-best eight boards.
