The Hoya defense stifled the Cougars from the start, as Houston missed its first 22 shots from the field before Brittney Scott found the back of the net with 2:54 remaining in the opening half. Georgetown (11-3) swatted seven first-half shots and forced 14 turnovers as the Cougars limped into the break down 37-11.
Houston went 8-of-25 from the field in the second half for a 9-of-49 (18 percent) total, and shot just 40 percent (16-of-40) from the free-throw line.
Scott led the Cougars with nine points off a 3-of-11 shooting effort from the field.
Lesslee Mason tallied four points and a game-high eight rebounds, while Breana Williams chipped in five points, five rebounds and two assists.
Roxana Button added six points, while Allie Henderson posted five points and two boards.
The Cougars were without the service of senior Courtney Taylor due to injury. Taylor has averaged a double-double (15.8 ppg, 11.7 rpg) through the first 10 contests.
Tia Magee and Sugar Rodgers led the Hoyas with 15 and 13 points, respectively.
Georgetown won the rebound battle by a 54-36 margin and forced 27 turnovers on 19 steals.
The Cougars look to rebound in their next contest at Houston Baptist, Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

*Nearly 1,650 Cougar fans attended Tuesday night's game, marking the largest home crowd of the season.
*Tuesday's loss snapped a seven-game home winning streak dating back to last season.
*The 37 points scored by Houston tied for the fourth-lowest output in program history.
*Senior guard Brittney Scott made her 72nd-consecutive start on Tuesday night. Scott has started all 71 contests dating back to the beginning of the 2008-09 season.
*Senior forward Courtney Taylor missed her first game since Dec. 31, 2009, against TCU.
