Volleyball Promotions Schedule Announced

HOUSTON - With the 2009 Houston volleyball season one week away, the UH Marketing Department announces its promotional schedule which is highlighted by the Oct. 9 Youth Night/Breast Cancer Awareness match.
Community groups are invited to attend the game and participate in an autograph session following the match against SMU. Donations will also be accepted and the Cougars will be wear pink jerseys to commemorate the event.
The 2009 season kicks off Aug. 28-29 at the Athletics/Alumni Center when the Cougars host the Flo Hyman Invitational.
Houston will then hold a Meet the Team night on Oct. 2, its Conference USA home opener following a month of road matches. An autograph session will follow the match against Tulane. The following night will be Club Night and free admission will be available to all wearing their volleyball team jersey. Local volleyball clubs will be invited to an autograph session after the match.
Red Rage night will be held on Oct. 7, as the Cougars take on their cross-town rival Rice. Fans are encouraged to wear red and the first 100 fans to arrive at the game will receive a free t-shirt.
Camp Reunion night will be held on Oct. 10. Campers will receive free admission if they wear their camp t-shirt and an autograph session will follow the match.
The final home weekend of the season will be on Oct. 30-31. Boy and Girl Scout Night/$1 Ticket Day will be held during the Friday contest. The first 100 scouts will receive a UH badge and there will be $1 admission for all fans.
Senior Night will close out the home slate on Oct. 31.
The 2009 season will begin on Aug. 28 when the Cougars take on New Orleans at 1:30 p.m. and Baylor at 7:30 p.m. The tournament will continue on Aug. 29 with contests against Southeastern Louisiana and Indiana.
