HOUSTON - After an eight day layoff, the University of Houston soccer team returns to John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium for their home opener this Sunday at 1 p.m. against Grambling State.
Sunday's game will begin a stretch of four games in eight days for Houston.
The Cougars are coming off a tough 1-0 loss in their season opening game, in which they held Baylor scoreless for nearly 70 minutes. A large part of Houston's defensive success was due to the play of goalie Stephanie Pucek, who snagged four saves against the Bears.
Houston was originally scheduled to play Nicholls State on Sunday, August 28, but the game had to be postponed due to the Hurricane Katrina disaster.
Fans can purchase tickets to this Sunday's game by calling 713-GO-COOGS or by clicking on the tickets link on the main page of UHCougars.com. Students can show their Cougar1 Card to gain entry to the match.
