While University of Houston head coach Art Briles and senior running back Anthony Evans and senior defensive end Kade Lane participated in the annual Conference USA Media Day in Memphis, Tenn., the remaining 103 Cougars officially reported to camp today, eager to start full workouts in preparation for the 2005 season.
Houston will hold its first practice tomorrow at 4:45 pm on the UH Practice Fields.
Briles, who is entering his third season at the helm of the Cougar program, is ready for the season to start.
"Of course, we are very excited about all the players getting here, and we're are glad this day finally arrived," said Briles. "We had great practices during the spring, and these guys have worked extremely hard during this summer to get ready to win some football games this fall."
The Cougars will continue with one-a-day practices for the rest of this week and most of next week. Exact two-a-day practices will be announced later this week.
