Football Schedule Date Changes, Friday Games Announced

Houston slated for two Friday night games; at Texas Tech, at Colorado
HOUSTON – In coordination with the Big 12 Conference and network partners, the University of Houston Football program announced two schedule updates on Friday ahead of the 2026 season with the Cougars set to play two Friday games.
Houston's first Friday night game of the season will be on Sept. 18 when the Cougars travel to face reigning Big 12 Champion Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. Houston will travel to Colorado to play the Buffaloes in Boulder, Colo., on Nov. 13 for its second Friday night game of the year. Houston and Colorado will meet on a Friday for the second consecutive season after playing their 2025 Big 12 opener inside TDECU Stadium on a Friday.
With two Friday night games, Houston is set to play multiple weekday games for the third consecutive season. The Cougars enter Year 3 of the Willie Fritz era on Saturday, Sept. 5 against Oregon State.
Kick times and network designations will be revealed at a later date.
The Cougars are 10-3 in Friday night games dating back to 2021 with Houston winning all three Friday night matchups in 2025, beating Colorado at home and both Oregon State and UCF on the road.

University of Houston Football season tickets are on sale for the 2026 season. For as low as $150, fans can get in on the excitement of Year 3 of the Head Coach Willie Fritz era with pivotal matchups against Oregon State, Southern, UCF, Oklahoma State, Cincinnati and Baylor as the Cougars look to improve on their 10-win season in 2025.
