Houston Football Relocates Spring Game

Houston Football to host third consecutive Spring Game, slated to be held at Football Outdoor Practice Fields
HOUSTON – Houston Athletics and Cougar Football has made the decision to move the 2026 Spring Game presented by Ford to the Football Outdoor Practice Fields due to field safety concerns at TDECU Stadium after a recent walk-through survey of the facility revealed damage to multiple areas of the playing surface that is unsafe to play on.
The Spring Game presented by Ford concludes Houston's 15-practice Spring Football schedule and is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Fans are encouraged to take advantage of free parking inside the Stadium Garage and enter the practice fields from the Holman entrance on the southeast corner of the fields.
Fans are also encouraged to stay following the conclusion of the game for a special ceremony honoring the 2025 Kinder's Texas Bowl Champion Cougars.
Saturday, April 18 will be a fantastic day for Cougars. Following the Spring Game, Frontier Fiesta opens at noon just outside TDECU Stadium, celebrating Cougar pride with live entertainment. Houston softball takes on Arizona State at Cougar Softball Stadium at 3 p.m., while the track and field program hosts the Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational at the Carl Lewis International Complex on Saturday.
