The University of Houston women's soccer head coach Bill Solberg and junior midfielder Nikki Hawkins will be featured on "Soccer Hour" with host Glenn Davis this Sunday, August 24, from 5-6:00 p.m. on 90.1 FM (KPFT) in Houston.
Solberg is in his fourth year as head coach of the Cougars, having guided them to an 8-8-3 overall record and a fifth-consecutive berth in the annual Conference USA Soccer Tournament in 2003.
Hawkins was named to the Second Team All-Conference USA last season after leading the Cougar squad in total points (13) and goals (6), while in C-USA games alone she led the team with six points and three goals. Her 13 points on the 2002 campaign are the most by a Cougar player since the 2000 season.
The Cougars open their sixth year of competition on Friday, August 29, against North Texas in the Baylor Tournament in Waco, Texas. The home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 5, against Big 12 rival Baylor at 7:00 p.m.
