SOPHOMORE 2014-15
Competed in three individual events at the American Athletic Conference Championship... Set two PR's, in the 500-yard freestyle (5:07.31) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:09.00) at the Pearland Invitational.
FRESHMAN 2013-14
Competed in two events during the inaugural American Athletic Conference Championships ... Swam a personal best in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.14) ... Recorded the fastest 500-yard freestyle time of the season by a freshman on the team.
HIGH SCHOOL
Swam and played water polo at Cypress Creek HS... Was coached in the pool by Jeff Chandler... Broke the school record in the 200-yard freestyle as a senior... Helped the Cougars finish third in the state.
PERSONAL
Daughter of Maryanne and Ernie Ortiz... Has two siblings, Maryanne and Jim Svoboda... Lists her sister Maryanne as her biggest influence... Majoring in health at UH with the goal of becoming a health administrator... Enjoys fishing and singing in her spare time.
