MyKaela Houston joined the University of Houston Athletics Department as associate director for sports medicine in May 2026.
In her current role, Houston works with the Women's Basketball and Women's Golf programs. She oversees the day-to-day healthcare needs of student-athletes, including injury evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation programs and coordination with team physicians.
Houston arrived at the University of Houston after spending two years at LSU, where she served as an intern athletics trainer for the Men's and Women's Basketball and Volleyball programs.
A native of Richmond, Texas, Houston earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Baylor in 2024.
She is a licensed athletic trainer and a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
