Mike Swanick was hired as the Director of Operations for Softball on August 15th, 2023 while also serving in the same role with the Women's Soccer team for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Over the last two seasons, he has assisted in transitioning both programs into their new eras of competing in the Big 12 Conference. In his role, he oversees the daily management of student assistants, travel, on campus recruiting, equipment and more for softball while also assisting the soccer coaches in these areas as well.
During his tenure the soccer program won its first Big 12 game in 2023 against West Virginia and Softball did the same against #1 Texas in 2024.
Prior to Houston, he served for two years as the Director of Video and Analytics for the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islander’s baseball program. There he worked to develop multiple proprietary metrics and establish video protocols to best help the coaching staff evaluate and utilize players.
Before joining the Islanders, he served for three years as both a student manager and assistant to the Director of Player Development for the University of Florida baseball team. During this time the Gator’s set a school record for consecutive wins to start a season in 2020, won the SEC regular season title in 2018 and made a CWS appearance that same year.
A 2019 graduate of the University of Florida, he holds degrees in both Mathematics and Economics.
