• Mason McClendon is in his first season as an analyst for the Houston Football program but his fifth season with the program after four seasons as a student-athlete.
• A three-time member of The American Athletic Conference’s All-Academic Team, McClendon saw action in 10 games in 2017 and three in 2016 as a holder on field goals and extra points.
• McClendon and his father became the first Coach-QB/Father-Son combo to win three straight state titles in Texas High School Football history at Midland Christian High School in Midland, Texas.
• He was a three-year starter for the Midland Christian Mustangs, owning a 39-3 career record. He threw for 9,214 yards and 113 touchdowns.
