• Eric Osborne joined University of Houston Football during summer 2024. He serves as Defensive Graduate Assistant for the Cougars. The 2025 season will be his second with the program.
• In 2024, Houston's defensive line turned in an impressive showing up front. The Cougars held opponents under 100 yards rushing five times, ranking 21st nationally and second in the Big 12, while limiting the opposition to one or no rushing scores in nine different contests.
• The Cougars limited opponents to 14 rushing touchdowns, ranking 25th in the Power Four and marking a sharp turnaround from 2023 when it permitted 27 rushing scores. UH opponents averaged just 3.9 yards per carry, the second lowest mark by the Cougars in the last seven seasons.
• Individually, junior Carlos Allen led all Big 12 interior defenders with an 84.4 run-defense grade (PFF) while ranking second in the Big 12 and 17th nationally with two fumble recoveries.
• Osborne joined the Cougars from Kilgore Junior College where spent 2023. During his year with Kilgore, he served as Linebackers Coach, tutoring four student-athletes who signed with Division I programs. That season, Kilgore captured a conference championship en route to an appearance in the four-team national playoff. On game days, Osborne was responsible for relaying personnel and run game.
• Prior to Kilgore, Osborne spent fall 2021-spring 2022 at New Mexico State, working as a Defensive Graduate Assistant for Head Coach Jerry Kill. There, he was responsible for all Defensive Breakdowns, Self-Scout, Scouting Reports and Quality Control (XOS). He handled preparation of playbook/installs, teach tapes and practice scripts.
• At New Mexico State, he oversaw Scout Team Cards and coordinated Offensive and Special Teams Scout Teams. He assisted in running Position Meetings and On Field Drills for OLB and ILB units while assisting with on-campus recruiting and the transfer portal. On game days, Osborne was responsible for relaying personnel and run game.
• Prior to New Mexico State, Osborne oversaw the Defensive Line at Eastern New Mexico from fall 2019-spring 2020. There, he was responsible for all Offensive Breakdowns, Self-Scout, Scouting Reports and Quality Control (Hudl). He also assisted in preparation of Playbook/Installs (Visio/PowerPoint), Teach Tapes and Practice Scripts.
• He ran position meetings and on-field drills for the defensive line and assisted coaches with recruiting the Transfer Portal, New Mexico High Schools & Central Texas High Schools in addition to Evaluating all positions. He also assisted with summer camps and on-campus recruiting while relaying personnel and run game on game days.
