Cougars to play 18 holes Friday at The Preserve Golf Club with Final Round on Sunday
TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Houston Women's Golf program continues its western tour when it tees off at the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club on Friday morning.Schools will play 18 holes each day starting Friday with the Final Round on Sunday.
The Cougars enter this weekend's action after finishing third at the Lady Luck Invitational at Las Vegas Country Club in Las Vegas on March 2-3. Junior Maelynn Kim tied for fifth with a score of 217 while senior Moa Svedenskiöld finished eighth at 218.

MEET the COUGARS
Under the leadership of Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla, the Cougars will be represented by junior Maelynn Kim, senior Moa Svedenskiöld, senior Natalie Saint Germain, senior Alexa Saldaña and sophomore Emilia Väisto.
This season, Svedenskiöld leads the Cougars with a 71.79 scoring average and has posted eight rounds of par or better with three in the 60s. The Halmstad, Sweden, native tops the team with three Top-Five finishes, all coming in her last four tournaments.
Saint Germain stands second on the team with a 72.56 average but leads the Cougars with 10 rounds under par. The Prague native captured the team's lone individual championship with a score of 10-under 60, thanks to three straight rounds in the 60s, at the Jim West Challenge at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas, on October 19-20, 2025.TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete in a 16-team field featuring Cincinnatim, Colorado State, Iowa, Iowa State, Long Beach State, Marshall, Nebraska, North Texas, San Diego State, Texas Tech, UTSA, Wichita State, Wisconsin and co-hosts Kansas State and Missouri.

For Friday's First Round, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Colorado State and Kansas State beginning at 9:30 a.m. (CDT) off No. 10
Väistö begins the day at 9:30 a.m. (CDT) with Saldaña (9:40 a.m. CDT), Saint Germain (9:50 a.m. CDT), Svedenskiöld (10 a.m. CDT) and Kim (10:10 a.m. CDT) following.

UP NEXT
Following the MountainView Collegiate, the Cougars close the regular season when they compete at the Veritex Bank Collegiate at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas on April 5-7.
From there, Houston opens the postseason when it tees off at the Big 12 Championships, slated to be played at Dallas Athletic Club in Dallas on April 23-25.
From there, the Cougars will enter the NCAA postseason on May 11-13 at one of six venues across the nation. Those sites include: University of Michigan Golf Course (Ann Arbor, Mich.); UNC Finley Golf Course (Chapel Hill, N.C.); Robert Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove (Huntsville, Ala.); Stanford Golf Course (Stanford, Calif.,); Seminole Legacy Golf Club (Tallahassee, Fla.) and Ridgewood Country Club (Waco, Texas).
