Women’s Golf Welcomes Jackie Gonzalez Howard

Senior joins Cougars after earning WGCA All-America honors at Wingate
HOUSTON – Transfer Jackie Gonzalez Howard became the newest member of the University of Houston Women's Golf team after signing a financial aid agreement, Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Rachel Pollock announced Thursday.Gonzalez Howard joined Houston after competing during the 2025-26 season at NCAA Division II Wingate, where she earned All-America recognition.
She spent her first three collegiate season at UT Rio Grande Valley. She will have one season of eligibility remaining with the Cougars.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Jackie to Houston! She is going to bring incredible championship experience as an All-America Honorable Mention at Wingate," said Pollock, who begins her first season with the Cougars in 2026-27. "As a fifth-year senior with international experience, she will definitely bring leadership qualities."
Gonzalez Howard is the latest signee for Pollock and Assistant Coach Olivia Schmidt. She joined ULM transfers Daniela Campillo Martinez and Zoe McLean-Tattan.
ABOUT JACKIE GONZALEZ HOWARD
Gonzalez Howard earned NCAA All-America Honorable Mention in 2025-26 after leading Wingate to the NCAA Championships Semifinals and the South Atlantic Conference Championships title.
She competed in 34 rounds across 12 tournaments with a 75.32 scoring average and finished at #34 nationally in the Scoreboard by Clippd rankings.
Gonzalez Howard opened the year with a second-place finish at the South Regional Preview at Cleveland Country Club in Chattanooga, Tenn., after lowering her score with each round, including a Final-Round 71.
She tied for fourth at the St. Simons Intercollegiate with a score of 218 after opening that tournament with a 71 and tied for eighth at the NCAA Championships at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., after shooting a Final-Round 69.
Gonzalez Howard competed for her first three seasons at UT Rio Grande Valley. After playing in six tournaments as a freshman in 2022-23 and receiving a redshirt due to injury in 2023-24, she competed in 29 rounds across 10 tournaments during the 2024-25 campaign.
She earned a pair of Top-20 finishes including a seventh-place showing at the Islander Classic at Corpus Christi Country Club in Corpus Christ, Texas.
