Four Women’s Golfers Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

HOUSTON – Four University of Houston Women's Golfers were named to the Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Communicators on Wednesday.Seniors Moa Svedenskiöld, Natalie Saint Germain and Alexa Saldaña and sophomore Emilia Väistö were recognized for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
All four student-athletes have posted cumulative grade-point averages of 3.50 or higher during their academic careers.
Svedenskiöld (integrated studies), Saint Germain (marketing) and Saldaña (finance) each graduated this spring with their bachelor's degrees while Väisto (integrated studies) returns for her junior season in 2026-27.
All four Cougars helped lead Houston to a second-place team finish at the Big 12 Championship presented by Allstate at Dallas Athletic Club in Dallas.
The quartet continued their on-course success with a second-place team finish at the NCAA Simpsonville Regional at Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Ky., in May to punch Houston's first ticket as a team to the NCAA Championships.
This marked the third straight season in which 3+ Cougars were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
ABOUT MOA SVEDENSKIÖLD
In 2025-26, Svedenskiöld led the Cougars with a 72.03 scoring average and five Top-10 finishes. The Helsingborg, Sweden, native posted Top-10 showings in five of her last nine tournaments close the season, including a fourth-place showing at the Chevron Collegiate at Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas.
She was named to the All-Big 12 First Team and earned a place on the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team after tying for 10th with a score of 217.
Svedenskiöld holds the school career record with a 71.90 scoring average and owns three of the Top-Five marks in Houston single-season history in that category.
ABOUT NATALIE SAINT GERMAIN
Saint Germain finished second among the Cougars with a 72.36 scoring average and tied for the team lead with 19 rounds of par or lower.
She fired three straight rounds in the 60s to earn medalist honors at the Jim West Challenge at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas (October 19-20, 2025) for the first title of her collegiate career.
Saint Germain ended her Houston career history in third with a 72.86 scoring average and stands fourth with 11 Top-10 finishes. As a freshman during the 2022-23 season, she set a school record with a 64 in the Final Round of the Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club (September 26, 2022).
This marked the second straight season in which Saint Germain was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
ABOUT ALEXA SALDAÑA
A four-year letterwinner, Saldaña posted a 73.20 scoring average with 11 rounds of par or lower during the 2025-26 season.
The Mexico City native tied for 13th at the NCAA Simpsonville Regional, thanks to a 68 in the Second Round, and finished 11th with a score of 4-under 212 at the Jim West Challenge early in the fall season.
This was the second time that Saldaña earned a place on the CSC Academic All-District Team after receiving recognition in 2023-24.
She also was a three-time member of the Spring Academic All-Big 12 Conference Team after earning a spot on the 2022-23 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team and is a two-time WGCA All-American Scholar.
ABOUT EMILIA VÄISTÖ
Väistö competed for the first time for the Cougars as a sophomore after transferring from Mercer last summer.
The Seinäjoki, Finland, native competed in 29 rounds across 10 tournaments during her inaugural season in the Scarlet and White.
She posted a season-low round 70 in the First Round at the MountainView Collegiate in March and tied for 22nd at the Huntington Bank Collegiate in Dallas in early April.
This was the first time that Väistö was selected for the CSC Academic All-District Team.
