#36 Tennis Ends Losing Skid with Sweep of #51 Colorado

Cougars get back in the win column with 4-0 win versus Buffaloes
HOUSTON — The #36 University of Houston Tennis team ended its three-game losing skid with a 4-0 sweep of #51 Colorado on Sunday afternoon at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.
Houston (12-3, 3-3 Big 12) earned a hard-fought doubles point in comeback fashion after juniors Elizaveta Morozova and Petja Drame fell, 6-4, to Ema Bubalo and Anya Nelson on court two.
No. 89 Sophie Schouten and Chems Doha Zeghlouli even the doubles score taking down Aya El Sayed and Pia Rebec, 7-5 on court one.
After being down 5-3, juniors Iva Sepa and Valeriia Krokhotina stormed back, taking the next four games to clinch the doubles point for the Cougars, 7-5.
In singles, Krokhotina dominated her first set against Bubalo on four, 6-0, and finished her off with a 6-4 set two victory.
Schouten needed an extra game in her first set, but finished Heidi Crncan in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4 to add another point for Houston.
Morozova clinched the match for the Cougars on court one as she bested El Sayed, 6-2, 6-3.
