PREVIEW: Women’s Golf Ready for Lady Luck Invitational

Cougars tee off at Las Vegas Country Club on Monday morning
LAS VEGAS – The University of Houston Women's Golf program heads west for a pair of tournaments, starting with the Lady Luck Invitational at Las Vegas Country Club on Monday morning.Schools will play 36 holes with a 10:30 a.m. (CST) shotgun start Monday with the Final Round teeing off Tuesday morning.
The Cougars enter the Lady Luck Invitational after finishing eighth at their own Chevron Collegiate on February 23-24 at Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas. The two-day event featured ten of the nation's Top-50 programs.
Senior Moa Svedenskiöld closed that tournament with a career-low-tying 66 to surge into a tie for fourth and earn her team-leading third straight Top-10 finish.
Junior Maelynn Kim added a 69 in her Final Round and joined Svedenskiöld in the Top 10 with a score of 4-under 212.
Following the Lady Luck Invitational, the Cougars tee off at the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz, on March 20-22.

MEET the COUGARSUnder the leadership of Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla, the Cougars will be represented by Svedenskiöld, Kim, senior Natalie Saint Germain, senior Alexa Saldaña and junior Ellen Yates.
With her recent performance, Svedenskiöld moved into the team lead with a 71.73 scoring average this season.
Saint Germain stands second among the Cougars with a 72.00 average but leads the squad with nine rounds of par or lower, including five in the 60s. The Prague native captured the first individual title of her collegiate career with a score of 10-under 206 at the Jim West Challenge at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas, on October 19-20, 2025.
TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete in a 14-team field featuring New Mexico, Texas State, Baylor, Kent State, Texas Tech, Northern Arizona, UTSA, Nevada, BYU, UCF, Oklahoma State, Oregon State and host UNLV.
TEE TIMES
For Monday's play, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Kent State and Oklahoma State beginning at 10:30 a.m. (CST).
Svedenskiöld begins the day off No. 4 with Saint Germain (first group off No. 5), Kim (second group off No. 5), Saldaña (No. 6) and Yates (No. 7) following.
