Cougars meet Bears at Noon inside Foster Pavilion in Big 12 Conference game airing on Peacock
WACO, Texas – Winners of its last eight games, the #7/7 University of Houston Men's Basketball program returns to the road when it travels to face Baylor at Noon, Saturday, inside Foster Pavilion.
The Cougars (14-1 • 2-0 Big 12) enter this weekend's game following a gritty 69-65 win over #14/14 Texas Tech inside Fertitta Center on Tuesday night.
Freshman point guard Kingston Flemings scored nine points in the final two-and-a-half minutes, including a clutch 3-pointer with Houston holding a 1-point lead and only 30 seconds left to lead the Cougars. The San Antonio, Texas, native added three rebounds and a team-high five assists in the win.
Junior forward Joseph Tugler (11 pts., 10 rebs) and freshman center/forward Chris Cenac Jr. (11 pts., 11 rebs) each finished with double-doubles against the Red Raiders and became the first Cougar duo to record double-doubles in the same game since center Josh Carlton and Kyler Edwards accomplished the feat in a double-overtime win at Wichita State on February 2, 2022.
With his performance, Flemings moved into the team lead with 16.1 points per game and ranks among the Big 12 Top-20 leaders in steals per game (t-5th), assists per game (9th), assist-turnover ratio (9th) and field goal percentage (11th).
Cenac enjoyed his team-leading third double-double of the season and leads the Cougars with 7.7 rebounds per game. With 2.0 steals and 1.7 blocks per game, Tugler is the only student-athlete to rank among the Big 12's Top-Eight leaders in both categories.

• Houston will put its 15-game road winning streak on the line at Baylor on Saturday. The 15-game streak (all in Big 12 Conference) games is a league record, the nation's longest active streak and ties the school record. Houston is the only school in the nation with active road AND home winning streaks of at least 13 games.

• Sharp and Flemings were named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Watch List on January 7. The Wooden Award is presented annually to the nation's top player. Houston was one of four schools with multiple student-athletes on the Watch List.
