Houston Closes Non Conference Action with Win Over UTRGV

HOUSTON – For the first time in school history, the University of Houston Soccer team finished its non conference schedule undefeated after a 1-0 victory against UTRGV on Thursday night at the Carl Lewis International Complex.

Houston (5-0-2) again held its opponent to single digits as UTRGV (3-4) only took two shots and zero on frame.

Sophomore Savannah Tafireyi found the back of the net just before the end of the first half in the 44th minute as she turned and scored on the edge of the penalty box.

The Cougars recorded 19 total shots with 13 corner kicks. Houston has tallied double digit shots in every match this season.
