SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A missed UTSA penalty kick in the 89th minute helped secure a 0-0 draw for the University of Houston Soccer team on Thursday evening at Park West Athletics Complex.
After a questionable foul call that went to review was confirmed, UTSA's Brooklyn Bailey's penalty kick deflected off the post and out of bounds for a goal kick.
The Cougars (0-0-1) took 18 shots with seven on target while holding UTSA (0-0-1) to 10 shots with just three on goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Manning gathered her 50th career save and second career clean sheet.
Junior midfielder Ava Shannon led the way with four shots while both junior forward Adehlia Ghonda and freshman midfielder Madyson Bentil recorded three shots.
Seven different players recorded a shot on target for the Cougars.
