Fangli, Jimenez represent their countries in Singapore
SINGAPORE – University of Houston Swimming & Diving Junior Elizabeth Jimenez and recent graduate Henrietta Fangli will represent their countries at the World Aquatics Championships this week at the World Aquatics Championships Arena in Singapore.Â
Â
Fangli, swimming for Hungary, and Jimenez, competing for Dominican Republic, will both participate in two events each during the competition. Fangli earned qualifications in the 50- and 100-meter breaststrokes while Jimenez secured berths in the 100- and 200-meter backstrokes. Fans can watch all the events on Peacock.Â
Â
The trip to the World Aquatic Championships is not the first international competition for either swimmer. Both swam at the Short Course World Championships in December 2024 while Jimenez competed at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Fangli previously swam at the Sette Colli Trophy meet in 2023 and 2024.Â
Â
A dual-national for swimming competition, Fangli currently holds both the long-course Hungarian and Romanian 50- and 100-meter breaststroke records. Jimenez is the long-course record-holder in the 400- and 800-meter freestyles as well as the 200- and 400-meter individual medleys.Â
