Men’s Golf Signs Enrique Karg

HOUSTON – Enrique Karg has joined the University of Houston Men's Golf program after recently signing a scholarship agreement, Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke announced Sunday.Karg, who earned medalist honors at the Golfweek National Golf Invitational Championship in earlier this month, will compete as a junior during the 2025-26 season and have two years of eligibility remaining. He joins Houston after spending his first two seasons at Utah State.
"We are excited to have Enrique join our program," Dismuke said. "He's a proven winner at the NCAA Division I level and has tremendous upside and potential to be one of the best players in the country.
As a sophomore at Utah State during the 2024-25 season, Karg finished with a 72.88 scoring average with 16 rounds of par or lower and three Top-20 finishes.
Measuring 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, Karg finished 15th at the Utah Collegiate Shootout in October 2024 and tied for 23rd at the Mountain West Conference Championships with a score of 2-under 214.
The Guadalajara, Mexico, native opened the National Golf Invitational Championship with a career-low-tying 65 and closed the tournament with rounds of 70-69. Tied with Richmond's Carson at 12-under 204 through 54holes, Karg earned medalist honors with on the first hole of a playoff.
As a freshman in 2023-24, Karg won the individual title at the Northern Colorado Spring Invitational in April 2024 after shooting 67-69 for the first individual crown of his collegiate career.
He finished his inaugural collegiate season with a 72.88 average and three Top-20 finishes.
Karg was an award-winning junior player before entering the collegiate ranks. He tied for ninth with a score of 216 at LXXII Campeonato Nacional – XXVI Edicion Internacional in April 2023 and finished with a score of 216 to tie for 109th at LXII Campeonato Nacional Interzonas Lorena Ochoa in April 2023.
