
Men’s Golf Learns NCAA Postseason Fate on Wednesday

NCAA Selection Show to air at Noon, Wednesday, on Golf Channel; Cougars to watch show in Dave Williams Facility at Golf Club of Houston
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Men's Golf program will learn its NCAA postseason fate during the NCAA Selection Show, airing at Noon, Wednesday, on Golf Channel.
Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke, Assistant Coach Cameron Peck and the Cougars will watch the show inside the Dave Williams Facility at Golf Club of Houston.
NCAA Regional play will be held at six sites across the nation on May 12-14. Three regional sites will have 13 teams and 10 individuals each with the remaining three hosting 14 teams and five individuals each.
The six sites for 2025 NCAA Regional play are Poplar Grove Golf Course (Amherst, Va.; hosted by Virginia); Gold Mountain Golf Club (Bremerton, Wash., hosted by Washington); The Blessings Golf Club (Fayetteville, Ark.; hosted by Arkansas); Montreux Golf and Country Club (Reno, Nev.; hosted by Nevada); Karsten Creek Golf Club (Stillwater, Okla., hosted by Oklahoma State) and Seminole Legacy Club (Tallahassee, Fla.; hosted by Florida State).
The top five teams and top individual not on a qualifying team at each NCAA Regional advance to the NCAA Championships set for Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., on May 23-28.
Standing at #40 in the latest Scoreboard by Clippd National Rankings, the Cougars enter the NCAA postseason after finishing fourth at the Big 12 Conference Championships at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., on April 22-24.
Tabbed as the No. 8 seed at the Championships, the Cougars posted a 72-hole score of 1,149. Senior Wolfgang Glawe tied for third at even-par 280 to earn All-Tournament Team honors while sophomore Chi Chun Chen joined him among the Top-20 leaders with a score of 288 to tie for 17th.
This season, Houston has posted five Top-Five team finishes and won the team championship at the All-American Intercollegiate with a score of 20-under 844 at Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas, on March 17-18. It was the program's 19th tournament crown under Dismuke.

NCAA REGIONAL HISTORY
Houston Men's Golf has competed as a team in 24 NCAA Regionals during the program's rich history with nine Top-Five team finishes.
With a nod on Wednesday, the Cougars will advance to NCAA postseason play for the 11th time overall and the fifth straight season under Dismuke's leadership.
Houston captured the team championship at the 1998 NCAA Central Regional at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas while four Cougars – Michael Perras, 2016 NCAA Franklin Regional; Blair Hamilton, 2016 NCAA Lubbock Regional; Brett Callas, 2003 NCAA Central Regional; and Dean Larsson, 1994 NCAA Central Regional – earned medalist honors at their respective events).
A year ago, the Cougars finished sixth at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional at University Club in Baton Rouge, La., falling only three strokes shy of advancing to the NCAA Championships. All-American and Big 12 Player of the. Year Santiago De La Fuente finished 14th with a score of even-par 216 to lead the Cougars.
