Tennis Drops Thursday Match at Utah

Cougars conclude regular season action at #67 BYU at noon CT, Saturday
SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Houston Tennis team fell to Utah, 4-0, on Thursday evening at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.
The Cougars (4-14, 1-11 Big 12) dropped the doubles point as fifth-year Santa Strombacha and sophomore Iva Sepa got swept by Sara Akid and Emma Valletta, 6-0, on court one.
Courts two and three were tied at four before Samantha Horwood and Dylan Lolofie pulled away on court three to defeat sophomores Valeriia Krokhotina and Heta Nuutiinen, 6-4.
Utah (8-13, 3-9 Big 12) didn't let up as it stormed to add points on court one and two. Emma Kamper defeated Strombacha, 6-1, 6-3, while Akid took down Sepa, 6-2, 6-3.
The Utes clinched the match on court three as Nuutinen fell to Kaila Barksdale, 6-3, 6-2.
