NCAA CUTS
All four of Houston's divers competing at Zones – fifth-year Hedda Grelz, sophomore Michelle McLeod, freshman Caroline Roelen and fifth-year Emilia Waters – earned cuts in all three events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Zone D holds some of the most qualification spots for the NCAA Championships with 11 in the 1-meter, 10 in the 3-meter and nine in platform. A diver who qualifies in any of the three events is also eligible for the other two events, provided they finish in the top 12 in the latter events at Zones.
BIG 12 HONORS
McLeod, Grelz and Waters won Houston's first Big 12 Event Championship by taking the top spot in the Team Diving competition. McLeod finished second in platform and seventh in the 3-meter at Big 12 Championships while Grelz placed eighth in both the 1-meter and 3-meter.
Fifth-year Hedda Grelz earned her first Diver of the Week honor of the season on Feb. 5 after a stellar meet against Rice. She won the 3-meter with a season-best score of 315.83 while finishing third in the 1-meter (287.78).
Sophomore Michelle McLeod also collected a conference weekly honor following the Phill Hansel, being named the Big 12 Diver of the Week after winning the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions while also finishing third in the platform.
