- The Cougars erased a three-run deficit heading into the bottom of the fifth inning by scoring in the fifth, sixth and eighth innings.
- Lott accomplished the feat of hitting a home run and earning a win as a pitcher in the same game against his former club on Feb. 25. Lott became the first Cougar since 2006 when National Player of the Year Brad Lincoln hit a homer and earned a win in the same game.
QUICK HITTERS
- Senior outfielder/left-handed pitcher Malachi Lott returned to Houston after spending the 2024 season at Sam Houston. He is one of five athletes to return to his current institution after playing at a different D1 school in 2024.
- Lott and junior Jake Tatom return to Sanders Stadium but will compete opposite their former school.
- Houston has scored 10+ runs in four consecutive games for the first time since 2002.
