AMES, Iowa – The University of Houston Women's Basketball program heads north to meet Iowa State at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, for its second all-time meeting with the Cyclones and first inside Hilton Coliseum.

THE GAME
- Houston and Iowa State meet for the second time in series history and first in Ames, Iowa.
- Wednesday marks the lone regular season meeting between Houston and Iowa State.
- Houston looks to pick up its first road win this season and first since Feb. 17, 2024, when it defeated Oklahoma State, 65-57 in Stillwater, Okla.
- Houston is 1-15 in Big 12 road games since joining the league last season.
- Houston dropped an 83-60 battle against Colorado in its first Big 12 Conference meeting against the Buffaloes inside CU Events Center on Saturday.
- With her 122nd career start on Saturday, graduate guard Laila Blair surpassed Porshe Landry (121, 2008-13) for the most starts in Houston Women's Basketball history.
- The Cougars had four of their starters score in double-figures as they were led by Blair's 18 points. Graduate guard Eylia Love and sophomore guard Kierra Merchant each scored 12 points while redshirt sophomore guard Gigi Cooke added 11 points.
- The Cougars return six players from the 2023-24 roster: Kierra Merchant, Gigi Cooke, Avalon Miller, Maliyah Johnson, Peyton McFarland and All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention, Laila Blair.
- With her 122nd career start against Colorado, Blair surpassed Porsche Landry's 121 starts for most games started in program history.
- On Jan. 22, Blair became Houston's record holder for 3-pointers made. She now has 243 career 3-pointers and is also No. 1 for most minutes played in program history at 4,176 minutes.
- On Jan. 11, Blair moved up to third on Houston's all-time scoring list. She has 1,893 career points and needs 65 points to move into second to surpass Sharion Higgins' 1,957 points.
- Avalon Miller (Achilles), Maliyah Johnson (ACL) and Kateri Poole (ACL) are out for the season.
- Guard Leilani Augmon suffered a broken nose against Baylor (Jan. 17). The guard had surgery on Jan. 27 and is expected to return mid-to- late February.
