Borgmeier joins Cougars after four years at Saint. Mary’s (CA)
HOUSTON – Former Saint. Mary's (CA) goalkeeper, Kate Borgmeier, joins the University of Houston Soccer team, Head Coach Ben Williams announced Monday.
Kate is a well-rounded, technically sharp goalkeeper who comes from a strong Saint Mary's program, Williams said. She's experienced, poised, and pushes the level of everyone around her. We're excited to bring her into the goalkeeper unit and have her help drive the entire program forward.
Borgmeier joins the Cougars after four seasons at Saint Mary's (CA), where she helped the Gaels to 34 wins including a 12-2-4 record and a second place finish in the West Coast Conference in 2025.
The Salt Lake City native posted 28 shutouts in three seasons at Judge Memorial High School where she helped the Bulldogs reach the quarterfinals of the 2021 playoffs.
Borgmeier was tabbed the Women's Premier Soccer League's Goalkeeper of the Year as well as a member of the Best XI during her club days with Utah Surf Soccer Club.
